Extender
/ Glaze Base
are pigment stains made in
a resin that is
slow to
set
and easy to wipe. Nu-Glaze also
has
significantly
higher viscosity
than
wiping
stains.
They
are typically applied
over a sealer
or wash
coat
to add
color depth
and uniformity.
(Shading with
glaze to build, darken or uniform color between
clearcoats may cause poor intercoat adhesion and is
NOT recommended.) Grain
patterns become more
pronounced.
Flat surfaces are typically wiped clean
while more difficult to
wipe areas such
as route
lines or inside corners
tend to hold
more residual
glaze. These residuals add
a rich,
aged appearance.
Nu glazes are not intended for use under
butyrate
lacquer unless a sealer
is applied first. Suggested
areas of use are high
quality
furniture,
cabinetry,
antiques, faux
finishes
and highlighted
grain
patterns.
Nu-Glazes can
be intermixed to create
custom colors. Nu-Glazes
can
be tinted with
Star
O.J.
tinting colors or
Hüls 866
colorants.
